Library Laptops
Currently the Library has several laptops available for check-out to the faculty and staff of NWTC for college-related activities.
- Laptops can only be checked out to NWTC Faculty or Staff members.
- Laptops circulate for 2 weeks at a time and can only be renewed if there is no waiting list.
- Laptops can be renewed for a total of 3 times before they must be returned to the Library. If there is no waiting list, the patron will be allowed to check out a different laptop at that time and will get to renew that laptop 3 times (unless a waiting list is formed).
- Exceptions to this policy will only be made per a request from a Dean, Vice-President, or President.
A laptop can be reserved for check out by contacting Don Whitson (920-498-6289) or, in the evening, Simon Yang (920-498-5694). Please check with Don in advance to make sure that the laptop has the software and hardware that you need.
These laptops can connect into the NWTC computer network, but access to a live data port, a patch cable, and a NWTC network login are required.
Note: The laptops have an internal modem, but the special software necessary to access the internet is not installed and no Internet Service Provider is supplied. The laptops also do not have wireless cards.

- Make sure that the power cord and external mouse are returned with the laptop.
- Unplug the power cord and the modem from the wall when a storm is approaching as lightning can zap power and phone lines.

Don'ts

- Do not install any software to the laptop without prior coordination with either the Library or PC/Network Services staff as it could change the systems setup or make the unit unstable.
- Do not leave the laptop in a car, or expose it to excessive heat or cold.
- Do not check the laptop as luggage or place it in a suitcase if traveling by plane.
- Do not leave the laptop unattended in a public place.
