The NWTC's Staff and Organizational Development Department offers certification activities as a service to its instructional staff, full-time, part-time and adjunct. Certification activities meet Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) certification requirements (competencies). As mandated by the administrative code, all activities, except 10-hour certification activities for part-time approval license holders, are equivalent to two (2) credits (or approximately 80 total hours of learning). NWTC has established the appropriate rigor of its offerings to facilitate credit transfer and collaborative arrangements with credit granting institutions at the master’s level.
Part-time or Full-time Provisional License Holders
Faculty who hold part-time and full- time provisional certification are required to successfully complete each certification requirement in whole. Adjunct instructors who teach under a part-time approval certificate may request a 10-hour activity for meeting their certification requirements, although we strongly encourage participation in a full activity. Contact Amy Mangin at 920-498-5486 to make arrangements for special provisions.
Five-Year or Part-Time Approval License Holders
Faculty with a five-year license seeking renewal options or faculty pursuing a 10-hour activity to renew their license may inquire about receiving credit to renew. These options are open to NWTC Faculty only. Please contact the Faculty Development Coordinator at 920-498-5486 if you have questions.
