The Assessment Curriculum Team
We're ready for another great year of Assessment at NWTC!
In 2005-06, the Assessment Curriculum Team supported NWTC's the move from the Accuplacer Test to TABE 9 &s; 10 Online. A project to examine student preparedness for the new, introductory level Math courses was scripted, and is currently under way.
2006-07 brings forth a few new initiatives, in addition to moving forward with the Math TABE project mentioned above, intended to collect data to discuss NWTC's use of program benchmarks. This will also tie into the Under-prepared Learner initiative underway at the State level. The team is exploring what "Learning Productivity" means to teaching and assessment and where we can measure productivity.
Our mission statement reads as follows:
The NWTC Assessment/Curriculum Team consists of cross divisional representatives who strive to implement the processes that shape decisions to validate and improve lifelong learning at the individual, class, course, program, and community levels for the continuous improvement of teaching and learning in order to maximize student success and employability.
